Abstract
Ibn-Uthaymin believes that interpreting the Gods' attributes is a kind of distortion in the verses of Quran and Hadiths, and the Pious Ancestors did not do that. In his view, this interpretation and leaving the lexical meaning of the verses is forbidden. While the opponents of this view maintain that if we do not interpret the meaning of some Quranic verses, it will lead to Tajseem, and other than that we have so many reasons from the holy Quran and hadiths that indicates that we must interpret these kinds of verses. Furthermore, some great scholars such as ibn Abbas interpreted the attributes of Khabariyeh. Our principles lead us to interpret the verses according to monotheism, leaving no room for misinterpreting the attributes of Khabariyeh. It must be mentioned that even Ibn-Uthaymin maintains that if we have a reason for interpreting these kinds of attributes there no problem for doing that.
