According to Imamiyyah, death does not prevent intercession for the alive in this world and the dead intercessors can perform intercession with a wider range. Because all of the conditions of intercession are fully available there. According to the Holy Quran all the divine saints are alive: Do not suppose those who were slain in the way of Allah to be dead; no, they are living and provided for near their Lord. Certainly, when the martyrs' existence is proven by this verse, we can be sure that the prophets and infallible Imams are still alive. Another condition is hearing of the dead after death, the narrations of Ahlobayt prove this verse. Another condition is speaking of the God with the intercessor, the following verse indicate to this: "They will say, ‘All praise belongs to Allah, who has fulfilled His promise to us and made us inheritors of the earth, that we may settle in paradise wherever we may wish!’" (39:74). So, all of the conditions of the intercession are available in the Islamic sources.
