One of the issues that most of Sunni scholars disagree with Ibn Taymiyyah is the role of Yazid in martyrdom of Imam Husain (PBH). According to this research, Yazid is the one who ordered to Kill Imam Husain (PBH). After this incident, Yazid rejoiced. Prophet's family were sent to Sham as captives. Some of Sunni scholars such as Zahabi and Alusi believe that Yazid is Nasebi (outrageous enemy of prophet's family). The uprising of Imam Husain against Yazid was legal, but Ibn Taymiyyah maintain that his uprising was illegal. According to Ibn Taymiyyah we must not curse Yazid, while many of great Sunni scholars such as Ahmad Ibn Hanbal and his followers believe that there is no problem in cursing Yazid. They argue that Yazid was insisting on committing sin and it seems that he did not repent. so according to Islamic rules, we can curse on him.
